On 25 July, the Green Schools Collective had the pleasure of hosting a tree planting event to observe National Tree Day for schools. In just one hour, Year 5 students from Queenwood Junior School and Mosman Prep helped us plant over 220 plants and trees in the bushland. It was truly wonderful to see their smiles and enthusiasm as they embraced the task, dirt and worms included!
This event served as a wonderful reminder that connecting children to nature at a young age fosters a wide range of benefits, including improved physical and mental health, enhanced cognitive development, and increased respect for the environment among other things.
A huge thank you to Ben Wylie at Mosman Council for dedicating his time that morning and supplying all the plants and trees!
